Spectral function for finite nuclei in the local-density approximation.

چکیده
The spectral function for finite nuclei is computed within the framework of the Local Density Approximation, starting from nuclear matter spectral functions obtained with a realistic nucleon-nucleon interaction. The spectral function is decomposed into a single-particle part and a " correlated " part; the latter is treated in the local density approximation. As an application momentum distributions, quasi-particle strengths and overlap functions for valence hole states, and the light-cone momentum distribution in finite nuclei are computed.

DEEP INELASTIC LEPTON SCATTERING IN NUCLEI AT x > 1 AND THE NUCLEON SPECTRAL FUNCTION
The nuclear structure function F2A(x) has been studied in the Bjorken limit for (l, l) scattering on nuclei in the region of x > 1 and was found to be very sensitive to the information contained in the nucleon spectral function in nuclei, particularly the correlations between momenta and energies in the region of large momenta. Calculations were done in a local density approximation using two d...

In this work, we have shown the important role of the finite-size correction to the work function in predicting the correct position of the centroid of excess charge in positively charged simple metal clusters with different values . For this purpose, firstly we have calculated the self-consistent Kohn-Sham energies of neutral and singly-ionized clusters with sizes in the framework of local sp...
متن کاملLEPTON SCATTERING ON NUCLEI AT x > 1 AND THE NUCLEON SPECTRAL FUNCTION
We analyze the processes of deep inelastic and quasielastic scattering in the region of x > 1. These processes are found to be very sensitive to the information contained in the nucleon spectral function in nuclei, particularly to the correlations between energy and momentum. Calculations are done using two spectral functions for nuclear matter and one for finite nuclei, 16O. Several approximat...
متن کاملExcitation energy dependence of the symmetry energy of finite nuclei
A finite-range density and momentum-dependent effective interaction is used to calculate the density and temperature dependence of the symmetry energy coefficient Csym(ρ, T ) of infinite nuclear matter. This symmetry energy is then used in the local density approximation to evaluate the excitation energy dependence of the symmetry energy coefficient of finite nuclei in a microcanonical formulat...
متن کاملNumerical resolution of large deflections in cantilever beams by Bernstein spectral method and a convolution quadrature.
The mathematical modeling of the large deflections for the cantilever beams leads to a nonlinear differential equation with the mixed boundary conditions. Different numerical methods have been implemented by various authors for such problems. In this paper, two novel numerical techniques are investigated for the numerical simulation of the problem. The first is based on a spectral method utiliz...
